This website was created to potentially host LIVE streaming video along the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wisconsin due to numerous drownings over recent years. The public has in the past and still currently does demand a system of cameras for protection of individuals that may wander down to the river and put themselves in danger. The people of La Crosse also have to learn responsibility when out having a good time and involving alcohol. Keep an eye on your friends, keep track of everyone, strangers be aware of the people around you in regards to how intoxicated they may be, basically, everybody watch out for everybody, seriously. A camera system like this will provide accurate documentation of any events that may occur and may even PREVENT some from occuring. A system similar to that of BlueServo.Net which was setup by the Texas Border Patrol (Sheriff) to identify illegal crossings from Mexico, using infrared/pan/tilt/zoom/recording/archival/reporting technology to stop the intrusions. This same type of system can easily be used in La Crosse. The cost is unknown at this time, but can we really place a price tag on a persons life? This camera system would need to be available to the public just like the example provided in Texas, and the public will have the ability to report potential issues to the Police accordingly. Please go to the Facebook page linked at the bottom of this page to join the effort and comment on ideas.
If a decision is made to install such a system, this site can be used, but there are no promises that it WILL be used. I am donating this site as part of my effort to help figure this out and help for the public's safety, and that is all.
